Statement of Faith

Calvary Indian Fellowship shall accept the Holy Scriptures as the revealed will of God, the all-sufficient rule for faith and practice, and for the purpose of maintaining general unity, it shall adopt the statement of Fundamental Doctrines, namely:

  1. The Inspired Scriptures

We believe that the Holy Bible, consisting of sixty six (66) books are God’s inspired Word; a revelation from God to man.
We believe that the Bible is the only infallible and authoritative Word of God. We accept it as our all-sufficient rule for the faith and practice.
    (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Hebrews 4:12)

  2. The One True God

We believe that there is only one true and living God, eternally co-existing in three persons,
God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit, who is everlasting, infinite in power, wisdom and goodness.
He is the intelligent, spiritual, and personal being, the creator, Redeemer,
Preserver and Ruler of all things both visible and invisible.
    (Deuteronomy 6:4, Isaiah 43:10-11, Matthew 28:19, Mark 12:29, John 5:17-30)

  3. The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles,
His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father,
in His personal future return in midair for the church and to this earth in power and glory to rule over the nations
    (Isaiah 7:14, Hebrews 7:26, Acts 2: 22-33,1:9-11, 10:38, Matthew 1:23, 28:6, Luke 1:31,35, 24:39, 1 Peter 2:22, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Philippians 2: 9-11, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Hebrews 1:3, Revelation 20:1-6, 19:11-14, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

  4. Man, his fall and redemption

We believe that man was created good and upright, but man voluntarily sinned and there by incurred both physical and spiritual death,
which is separation from God and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God
    (Genesis 1:26-31, 2:17, 3: 1-7, Romans 5: 12-21)

  5. The Salvation of Man

    1. Conditions for Salvation: The grace of God, which brings salvation, has appeared to all man through the preaching of the repentance
toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. Man is saved through the regeneration by Holy Spirit. Being justified by grace,
through faith, man becomes heir of God according to the hope of eternal life
      (Luke 24:47, Romans 10:13-15, Titus 2:11, 3: 5-7)
    2. The evidence of Salvation: The inward evidence to the believer of his or her salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16).
The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness (Romans 6:22)
    3. Faith and Works: Salvation is by Faith in Jesus Christ and not by human works; however, our works will determine the rewards of eternity
      (Ephesians 2:8-10, Galatians 2:16, 2 Corinthians 5:10)
  6. The Ministry

Divinely called and scripturally ordained offices such as Apostles, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers,
Evangelists and Deacons. They are called by the Holy Spirit, bestowed gifts according to their
calling and have been provided by our /Lord for the threshold purpose of leading the church in:

    1. Evangelization (Mark 16: 15-20)
    2. Worship of God (John 4:23-24)
    3. Building a body of saints, being perfected in the image of His Son. (Ephesians 4: 11-16)
  7. Justification

Justification is the judicial act of God, whereby guilty sinners, who put their complete faith in Jesus Christ as savior and Lord,
are declared righteous in His eyes and free from guilt and punishment. The sinner who accepts God’s forgiveness,
experience a divine relationship with Him. He discovers that the righteousness of Jesus Christ, God’s beloved Son,
    is credited to his account. (Acts 13:38-39, Romans 3:21, 5: 17-21, 8:1, 30, 33, 10:14)

  8. Sanctification

We believe the scriptures teach a life of holiness, sanctification is a separate from that which is evil and a dedication unto God.
We believe that all believers should earnestly pursue sanctification by walking in obedience to God’s word.
We further believe that the Christian is able to live a Godly life by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit
    (Hebrews 12:14, 1 Peter 1:15-16, Philippians 2:12-13)

  9. Ordinances of the Church- Baptism in Water & Lord’s Supper.

    1. We believe the ordinances of the church are baptism in water, by immersion, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,
and the communion of the Lord’s supper. The ordinance of baptism by burial with Christ should be observed as commanded in the
scriptures by all who have truly repented and in their hearts have truly believed on Christ as Savior and /Lord.
In doing so, they declare to the world that they have died with Jesus and that they have also been raised with Him to walk in the newness of life.
      (2 Peter 1:4, 1 Corinthians 11:26, Matthew 28:19, Romans 6: 3-4)
    2. We believe every person who is born must be baptized once as representing the death, burial and the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Lord’s Supper should be observed regularly by them in remembrance of His death and express hope in His promised return
      (1 Corinthians 11:24-25, 28)
    3. Washing the feet of others, dedicating children unto the Lord, and laying on of hands, are acceptable practices.
  10. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit

    1. We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and it is granted to all believers who ask for it.
Therefore the believer should ardently expect and earnestly seek the promise of the Father.
We further believe this experience is distinct from and follows the new birth, that it was the normal experience of the New Testament Christians,
and that it brings as endowment of power for Christian living and service.
      (Luke 24:49, Acts 1:4,5,8; 2:4; 10:44-46; 15:8-9, Matthew 3:11, 1 Corinthians 12:13)
    2. We believe the Baptism of believers in the Holy spirit is witnessed by the initial physical sign of speaking in other tongues,
as the spirit gives utterance and by the subsequent manifestation of spiritual power in public testimony and service
      (Acts 1:8; 2:4; 42-43; 10:44-46)
  11. The Church and its Mission

    1. We believe the church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Each believer, born of the spirit, is an integral part of the church. (Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:22; Hebrews 12:23)
    2. Since God’s purpose concerning man is to seek and save the lost, to be worshiped by man, and to build a body of believers in the image of His Son, the primary reason for being the part of the church is:
      • To be an agency of God for evangelizing the world (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19,20; Mark 16:15-16)
      • To be a corporate body in which man may worship God (1 Corinthians 12:13)
      • To be a channel of God’s purpose to build a body of saints being perfected in the image of His Son (Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Corinthians 12:28; 14:12)
    3. CIF exists expressly to give continuing emphasis to the reason for being in the New Testament apostolic pattern by teaching and encouraging believers to be baptized in the Holy Spirit.
      This experience:

      • Enables them to evangelize in the power of the spirit with accompanying supernatural signs (Mark 16: 15-20; Acts 4: 29-31; Hebrews 2:3-4)
      • Adds a necessary dimension to a worshiping relationship with God (1 Corinthians 2:10-16; 12:14)
      • Enables them to respond to the full working of the Holy Spirit in expression of fruits, gifts and ministries, as in New Testament times, for the edification of the Body of Christ. (Galatians 5:22-26; 1 Corinthians 12:28; 14:12; Colossians 1:29; Ephesians 4: 11-12)
  12. The Blessed Hope

We believe in the pre-millennial resurrection of those who are fallen asleep in Christ,
and their translation together with those who are alive and remain faithful unto the coming of the Lord.
This is the imminent and blessed hope of the church.
    (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Romans 8:23; Titus 2:13; 1 Corinthians 15: 51-52)

  13. Divine Healing

We believe that Christ death on the cross provides healing for the human body, soul and spirit, in answer to the believer’s prayer.
    (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; James 5: 14-16; Mark 16: 17-18)

  14. Finance and Stewardship

The financial system of the CIF is built around the biblical teaching of tithe and offering and its members are expected to tithe
their income on a regular basis and give offerings for special needs as they arise
    (Malachi 3:10; Hebrews 7: 6-9; 2 Corinthians 9:6-7)

  15. The Millennial reign of Christ

We believe the second coming of Christ includes the rapture of the saints, which is our blessed hope,
followed by the visible return of Christ with His saints to reign for a thousand years.
The millennium reign will bring restoration to Israel and establish universal peace,
which will be preceded by the tribulation period of seven years.
    (Zachariah 14:5; Matthew 24:27, 30; Revelation 1:7, 19; 11-24; 20:1-6; Romans 11:26-27; Micah 4:3-4)

  16. Great Tribulation and the final (White Throne) Judgement

We believe that there will be a great tribulation on earth when anti-Christ will be in power soon after Christ coming in the air for the rapture of the Church.
There will be a final judgement in which the wicked who have died will be raised and judged according to their works.
Anyone whose name is not written in the book of life will be consigned to everlasting punishment, which is the second death
    (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Matthew 25:46; Mark 9: 34-48; Revelation 19:20; 20:11-15; 21:8)

  17. The Lake of Fire

Those who have not accepted the redemptive work of Jesus Christ will suffer eternal separation from the Godhead.
The devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and anyone whose name is not found written in the Book of Life,
shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire which burns the brimstone. This is the second death, the lake of fire
    (Revelation 19:20; 20:10-15)

  18. The New Heaven and the New Earth

“We, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, where in dwells righteousness”
    (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21, 22)

These, in essence, are what we believe. These statements are set forth as being essential to our ministry.
